Caper Ruud was born to Christian and Lele Ruud. His father Christian, in addition to being a father figure in the life of his son, also plays an additional role.

He serves as his son’s head coach, which explains Casper’s success thus far.

Christian is more than qualified to be his son’s coach, after all, he has been where Casper is before. Born on August 24, 1972, he is a former tennis player who turned professional in 1991.

In October 1995, he achieved a career-high singles ranking of World No. 39. He then proceeded to the fourth round of the 1997 Australian Open and the quarterfinals of the 1997 Monte Carlo Masters.

He was the highest-ranked Norwegian male player ever on the ATP Tour. In February 2020, it was his own son who surpassed him.
