Daniel Alves da Silva (born 6 May 1983) is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Liga MX club UNAM and the Brazil national team.
Alves, widely regarded as one of the greatest full-backs of all time, is the most decorated player in football history, having won 46 senior titles and 47 official titles overall.
Alves began his career at Bahia in 2001 and went on to spend six years with Sevilla, where he won two UEFA Cups and the Copa del Rey.
He joined Barcelona for €32.5 million, making him the third-most expensive defender of all time. In his first season with the club, he won the treble, and the following season, he won the Supercopa de Espaa, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup. In the years since he has helped the club win two more Supercopa de Espaa, five La Liga titles, and two UEFA Champions League titles.
Juventus signed Alves on a free transfer in 2016. In his only season with the club, he won the Serie A title and the Coppa Italia, as well as reaching the Champions League Final. Alves joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in 2017 and won the domestic treble in his first season, followed by another league title the following season. He returned to his home country in 2019, joining So Paulo. Alves won his first title with the club two years later, the Campeonato Paulista. In 2021, he returned to Barcelona.
