Colin Jost is an American comedian who is a writer for Saturday Night Live (SNL) and a  Weekend Update co-anchor.

Colin Jost was born on June 29, 1982, to Daniel A. Jost and his wife Kerry Kelly.

Daniel A. Jost is a former teacher at Staten Island Technical High School.  Kerry Kelly was the first female physician to join New York City Fire Department. She was also the chief medical officer for the New York City Fire Department.

Kelly was also a first responder to the September 11 attacks or commonly known as the  9/11 attacks. She, however, retired in 2018.

The couple has been together for over four decades after getting married in 1975. They have welcomed two sons throughout the duration of their marriage.

Their elder son is Colin Jost, who is married to actress, Scarlett Johansson and have a son named Cosmo Jost.

Their younger son, Casey Jost, is a writer and a producer of Impractical Jokers. He also appeared in Staten Island Summer
