Dr. Nathan Jove, MD – Decatur, GA

Nathan Jové, M.D. is a third generation orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Jové has followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, Dr. Julio Jové, and his father, Dr. Maurice Jové. Dr. Jové earned his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Emory University. He received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Jové then trained at the Detroit Medical Center where he worked for a significant portion of his training at Detroit Receiving Hospital – the largest trauma center in Detroit. Dr. Jové trained with physicians who took care of the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Pistons and Detroit Red Wings.

Dr. Jové has presented his research all over the country, including a prestigious opportunity for an oral presentation at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Conference in March 2013. He was given the honor of Chief Resident for his program throughout his final year of residency.

Recently, Dr. Jové has performed the first outpatient Total Joint Replacements at Dekalb Medical Center. Working with their Joints Solutions Center, Dr. Jové has started the era of outpatient total joint surgery at Dekalb Medical. Dr. Jové will also help Eastside Medical develop their outpatient total joints program.

Dr. Jové is also in charge of developing the Hip Fracture Program at Dekalb Medical Center to expedite the care of elderly with hip fractures. As an expert in hip fractures, Dr. Jové's initiatives will lead to shorter hospital stays, decreased complications and better hospital preparation and management of these patients. If you're at Dekalb Medical Center or Eastside Medical Center and have a hip fracture, you'll know who to ask for!

Recently, Dr. Jové has been granted privileges to perform surgery at the Piedmont West Surgery Center in Atlanta, GA. He will be performing outpatient total joint replacements there in the near months!
