Timothy Hunt Obituary: A Life Celebrated and Remembered

Timothy Hunt, aged 63, passed away suddenly on August 10th, leaving a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. Timmy, as he was affectionately known, was a devoted husband to Cathy Smith Hunt and a loving father to Jim (Mary) and Tommy Hunt. His legacy of love extended to his role as Poppy to Tommy Leo and Bridget Hunt. He held a special place in the hearts of his 20 nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and nephews.

Timmy is survived by his siblings Brian (Annie), Kelly (widow of Terry), Dan, Tom (Tammy), and Neal (Jes). He began his journey at St. Ignatius High School and furthered his education at the University of Dayton, known as the “Harvard of the Midwest.” At St. Ignatius, Tim left his mark as a key member of the basketball team and showcased his talent as an All-City pitcher on the baseball team, even achieving the remarkable feat of pitching two no-hitters during his career.

Throughout his life, Tim remained a dedicated supporter of St. Ignatius sports, holding basketball season tickets and volunteering for the program. His loyalty extended beyond the court, as he made lasting contributions in his professional career and in charitable endeavors, always extending a helping hand to those in need. Tim’s commitment to community was reflected in his active involvement with Rocky River Little League, where he served as Vice President and a Member of the Board of Trustees. He was a familiar face at St. Christopher Parish, contributing his time to coaching CYO football, basketball, and baseball.

A Funeral Mass in celebration of Tim’s life will be held at St. Christopher Church, located at 20141 Detroit Ave., on Thursday, August 17th at 11:00 a.m. Those attending are kindly requested to gather at the Church. Following the Mass, Tim will find his resting place at Lakewood Park Cemetery.
