On August 26, 2023, a heartbreaking tragedy struck our family as we lost three beloved members: Sherlyn Pitts (65), Sheena Pitts (38), and her son, Jaylin Pitts (17). They fell victim to an unfortunate act of violence in Joppatowne, MD, leaving us in mourning for their untimely departure.

Sherlyn, the eldest of six siblings, was on the verge of retirement from a job where she was cherished, admired, and renowned for her unwavering positivity. Jaylin, a high school senior, was the beloved and only child of his devoted mother, Sheena, who, in turn, was her parents’ sole surviving child.
