GoFundMe; Sylvain Lessard Dies in Traffic Accident

“Sylvain Lessard’s Tragic Passing in Lakeshore Traffic Accident Sparks GoFundMe Support”

A heart-wrenching incident unfolded on Tuesday evening in Lakeshore, where a devastating collision occurred on County Road 42. This accident involved a passenger vehicle and a commercial vehicle and tragically claimed the life of Sylvain Lessard, a 20-year-old Windsor resident.

The incident took place around 9:20 p.m., and it involved Sylvain Lessard’s sports utility vehicle colliding with a tractor-trailer. Despite the swift response of emergency services, Sylvain lost his life at the scene, while the driver of the tractor-trailer sustained critical injuries and was promptly transported to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities, including the Ontario Provincial Police, Lakeshore Fire and Rescue, and Emergency Medical Service personnel, responded rapidly to the scene. The investigation into the accident continued the following day, led by Lakeshore OPP and supported by the OPP West Region traffic incident management and enforcement team.

County Road 42, which had been temporarily closed between Lakeshore Road 103 and Patillo Road, was reopened on Wednesday morning following the collision investigation.

To support Sylvain Lessard’s family during this incredibly challenging time, a GoFundMe campaign has been established. Sylvain’s sister, Tanya Martineau, created the campaign to assist with funeral expenses. The campaign highlights Sylvain’s passion for hockey and his recent involvement with the Lakeshore Canadiens. It acknowledges the outpouring of love and support from the community and expresses gratitude for any donations, no matter how small.
