GoFundMe; Thomas Michael Stark Obituary, Visitation, and Memorial Service

On March 5, 2023, Thomas Michael “Pickles” Stark, 28, of Maple Plain, passed away from an unexpected cardiac arrest.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Marlyn Korpi, uncle Keith Korpi, aunt Cindy Korpi, father Glen Korpi, uncle Arnie Roepke, great-uncle Dick Stark, and grandparents on his mother’s side, Howard and Charlene Stark.

Tom is survived by his son Bentley Reed, mother Denise Stark, a close friend named Heather Cogbill, and numerous (and we do mean numerous) friends, family, and coworkers. Just ask the nurses who were attempting to manage the visitor room overflow.

Tom was the best father and had a deep affection for his son.

We appreciate the efforts of the Maple Plain Fire Department, West Hennepin Police Department, North Memorial Hospital’s ICU and surgical staff, and the LifeSource team.

A GoFundMe has been created to help generates funds for the family:

Hello, my name is Sarah and Tom (28) is my cousin. I am raising money to cover funeral costs and help fund his 12-year-old son and my godson, Bentley’s, future.

On Thursday, March 3rd, 2023 Tom went into sudden cardiac arrest at his home. His mom, Denise, bravely performed compressions until first responders arrived. Unfortunately, he was declared brain dead on March 5th.

True to Tom’s character, he made the generous decision to become an organ donor when he first got his driver’s license. Denise’s actions allowed for him to be put on a ventilator so the ICU team at North Memorial Hospital could ensure his organs were strong enough to donate. Ultimately, he was able to donate both kidneys, one strong-as-hell liver, and his best quality – his big heart – to four, well deserving individuals in the early hours of March 7th.

Now our focus shifts to celebrating Tom’s life and making sure that Bentley knows he has an army of support behind him. I will be using funds raised to cover the costs of his memorial services and setting up a trust fund for Bentley to access in the future. Please consider donating and showing Bentley how much love we all have for him and his dad.
