Hans Jacob Gruber Died In Asheville Crash; Woman Charged With DUI
A man who was killed over the weekend while crossing the interstate has been recognized by police.
The Asheville Police Department’s Samantha Booth published a photo of the man on Thursday and identified him as Hans Jacob Gruber, 27, on Friday.
According to Booth, a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee struck Gruber as he was walking in the travel lane of I-240 West close to Charlotte Street at around 1:15 a.m. on Saturday.
He passed away there, according to Booth.
She claimed that the 30-year-old driver, Halley Marie Page, had been accused with drunk driving and possession of an open container.
