Dearborn Police Arrest Two Suspects in Connection with Murder of Hassan Salami/ Funeral Details
Dearborn, MI – Dearborn Police have taken two individuals into custody following their suspected involvement in a fatal shooting that occurred during an attempted carjacking near 16351 Ford Rd. on the evening of Tuesday, September 19, at around 9:30 p.m. The incident unfolded as a male and a female were walking towards their vehicle.
Upon receiving initial reports of the shooting in the parking lot, Dearborn Police swiftly responded, immediately initiating life-saving measures. Tragically, one male victim was transported to Corewell Hospital, where he was regrettably pronounced deceased. Thankfully, the second victim did not sustain any physical injuries.
Dearborn Mayor Abdullah H. Hammoud expressed his deep condolences, stating, “This tragic event has deeply affected our community. Dearborn is more than just a collection of neighborhoods; when one of us experiences tragedy, it resonates with all of us. As we mourn the devastating loss of our beloved community member, Hassan Salame, my heart goes out to his family and friends who are enduring unimaginable pain. We will spare no effort in ensuring that those responsible for this crime face justice.”
While two suspects have been apprehended in connection with the incident, the Dearborn Police are actively pursuing additional leads as part of their ongoing investigation.
Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin emphasized their commitment to solving this heinous crime, stating, “Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the victim’s loved ones. Based on the information available at this time, this tragic incident appears to have been a random act of violence. We will exhaust all resources and leave no stone unturned in our quest to bring the perpetrators to justice.”

Our condolences to the family of Hassan Salame, of Dearborn Heights who was shot and killed last night in an armed robbery. According to a family source, Hassan and his wife had finished dinner at Xushi Ko located on Ford Road in Dearborn. The suspect shot Hassan outside his Mercedes G-Wagon. The owner of Lama’s Florist, Hassan will be missed by all those who knew him. (Allah yerhamo.)
