After a protracted illness, Fred Burrows, Sr. passed away on September 27, 2022, and was reunited with his cherished wife. Age-wise, he was 83. He was the son of Anne Elizabeth “Betty” Jones Burrows and Robert Henry Burrows Jr. on March 20, 1939 in Clinton, New York. He worked as a busboy at Trinkaus Manor after completing high school in 1957 and also at his father’s garbage hauling company, Burrows Trucking. On April 11, 1959, he wed Mary Louise Henry, the love of his life, and the couple’s 63-year marriage odyssey started. They created a family, a business, and a way of life together. Fred was a risk-taker and a visionary. He grasped the chance when it presented itself, and he and his wife founded Fred Burrows Trucking Together, excavating in 1969. With his lone son, who bears his name, in charge, it is still in use today.Along with his in-laws Linda (Glenn) Smith, Fred (Faye) Henry, and Marilyn (Gary) DuBois, Fred also leaves behind his siblings, Douglas (Mary) Burrows, Anne (George) Gennings, and Sandra Schmidt, as well as their spouses. Fred was predeceased by his mother in 2002, father in 1988, sisters Denise Poynter and Jordyn Ramsey in 2022, and granddaughter Marlene Brown in 2019. On September 10, 2022, he recently lost his loving wife Louise.
On Friday, September 30th, from 4 pm to 7 pm, there will be visiting hours at Dimbleby Funeral Homes Inc., 40 Main Street, Whitesboro. The funeral home will hold the funeral services on Saturday, October 1st at 2:00 p.m. Crown Hill Memorial Park will host the burial.
