“Fatal Car Accident Claims Lives of Jaida Rosado and Jalean Gibbs on DuSable Lake Shore Drive

The Chicago community is in shock as we grapple with the heartbreaking news of a fatal car accident that occurred on DuSable Lake Shore Drive, South Side Chicago. This tragic incident, which took place on Monday night around 8:48 p.m. in the 3000-block of DuSable Lake Shore Drive, claimed the lives of two individuals, one of whom was a beloved teacher at the renowned Chicago International Charter School (CICS Bucktown). Jaida Rosado and Jalean Gibbs, the victims of this devastating accident, will be deeply missed.

On that fateful evening, the victims were traveling in a Nissan car heading south on DuSable Lake Shore Drive. Their journey took a tragic turn when a Chevrolet sedan, attempting a lane change, collided with their vehicle. The impact caused the Nissan to lose control, ultimately leading to a collision with a tree.

Emergency services promptly responded to the scene. Tragically, the male driver and a female passenger from the Nissan were transported to the University of Chicago Medical Centre, where they were pronounced dead. Two other female passengers, aged 21, who were also in the Nissan, were rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition. The occupants of the Chevrolet sedan, a male driver and a female passenger, were transported to Stroger Hospital with their condition reported as fair.

The Chicago Police Department’s Major Accidents Unit has taken charge of the investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding this heart-wrenching incident.
