Jeff Rogers Cause of Death: Jeff Rogers Cowboy Ranch Owner
Police on Friday were investigating the death of Jeff Rogers, a longtime restaurant and nightclub operator facing thousands of dollars in unpaid debt and taxes.
Edmond police spokeswoman Emily Ward said officers were called to the 2500 block of Merlot Court at 12:13 p.m., a home purchased by Rogers in June. She said the Oklahoma Medical Examiner will try to determine a cause of death.
“His wife woke up this morning and he was not breathing,” Ward said. “There was no obvious sign of a cause of death.”
Rogers gave up control of his largest operation, Cowboy Ranch, at 11 a.m. Thursday following a Tuesday court ruling that upheld an eviction filed by landlords Brent and Brett Brewer.
Rogers previously was evicted from a restaurant and nightclub space also rented from the Brewers along the Bricktown Canal. In the past two years he opened five Yo! Pablo restaurants, Steak the Experience, Tipsy Tiki bar, Chico Blanco, Pig & Butcher, Red Dragon Express and Bloom Nightclub.
