Kristen Richards, the creator of ArchNewsNow, dies at age 69.

Richards established ArchNewsNow (ANN) in 2002 as a means of bringing together enthusiasts of architecture as well as showcasing lesser-known projects and stories. ANN is a simply designed website and newsletter with a significant impact on the industry.
Richards would read through articles every morning while working on software developed by her husband, software developer George Yates, in order to select, gather, and then distribute stories through her daily digest newsletter. Despite the strain of operating a free service on top of a full-time job
.
Richards worked as a news editor and writer for Interiors magazine from 1989 to 1999 before founding ANN. From 2003 to 2016, he served as editor-in-chief of Oculus, the AIANY’s quarterly print magazine.
Her ability to balance those demands while maintaining the service and providing her trademark high degree of journalistic rigor was a testament to her passion for ANN. Richards was admitted as a honored AIA member in 2011.
