Wayne Rooney was born to Jeanette Marie, born Jeanette Marie Morrey, and Thomas Wayne Rooney in Croxteth, Liverpool. He has two younger brothers named Graham Rooney and John Rooney.

John Rooney, who happens to be the baby out of his siblings, is a football player like his brother. He plays as an attacking midfielder for Barrow.

He began attending the Everton Youth Academy at the age of six. He moved to Macclesfield Town in 2002 after he was released by Everton. There, he signed professional terms on 14 July 2008. He went on to play for teams including New York Red Bulls, Barnsley, and Chester.
