Michael Geesey Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash on Old Trail Road

Jamie Noerpel says her heart goes out to the family of the man who died Tuesday night after his vehicle crashed into her home in Newberry Township.

Michael Geesey, 30, of the 400 block of Hykes Mill Road in Conewago Township, died when he lost control of his car on Old Trail Road and it crashed into Noerpel’s residence, the York County Coroner’s Office and police said.

Firefighters and police rushed to the scene, and everyone was so caring and professional, Noerpel said.

The damage to her house can be fixed, she said, but the victim’s life can’t.

Crash created a loud boom

Noerpel said she was sitting on the living room floor with her 8-month-old son when she heard a loud boom that she never heard before.

She looked around to make sure she and her son were not in danger. Everything seemed fine in that moment.

Noerpel began to investigate and found that her front screen door wouldn’t open. The porch also was messed up. She dialed 911.

The mother and son headed outside. A neighbor came over, and they walked around the house. That’s when they spotted the silver car with someone inside. He wasn’t moving.
