Obituary, Missing Yvette Spencer Found Dead in Southeast DC

Authorities say a woman who went missing last week was found dead on Monday in Washington, D.C.

The Metropolitan Police Department reports that Yvette Spencer, 59, was last seen on Friday night around 9:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of 17th Place SE.

The body of a woman was discovered in a trash can on Monday by a cleaning crew at 1616 27th Street SE, according to the apartment building’s property manager, who spoke to Ghsplash.
Investigators identified the body as Spencer’s on Tuesday.

The trash can wasn’t a part of the land, according to the property manager.

Police said they have not decided whether the death is a homicide, despite the fact that D.C. homicide detectives were on the scene on Monday.
