Obituary | What Happened To Sidney Langston? How Did She Die ?
Troopers say the 18-year-old victim of a fatal head-on collision in Trinity was not wearing a seatbelt.
The driver, according to the troopers, was also not restrained. She had sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital.
The Highway Patrol reports that an 18-year-old woman was killed in a head-on collision in Trinity on Monday evening. The deceased was named by troopers as Sidney Brittian Langston.
It occurred on Finch Farm Road close to Saddle Club Drive at around 9:30 o’clock at night.
According to the troopers, 18-year-old Emily Jane McAllister was driving a compact car when she veered to the left and collided head-on with an SUV.
Langston was seated in the passenger seat on the right side of the front bench.
According to the state troopers, the girls weren’t wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
A medical examiner ruled that Langston’s death was an accident and he was pronounced dead there.
McAllister’s injuries were so severe that he had to be rushed to Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. The two women completed high school at the same time last year.
Friends described Sidney Langston as reserved, but bubbling over with happiness.
After completing his high school education at Wheatmore, Langston worked at 66 Grill and Tap House in Thomasville. He aspired to pursue a career as a dental hygienist.
Charlsey Butler, one of Butler’s closest friends, has noted how strange it is that they can no longer text one another.
As Butler put it, “it’s just hard.” “It still feels like she’s here, even though she’s not, and then it really just like, sometimes when you’re thinking about it, it just hits you like when I woke up this morning I have pictures of her on my wall and then I have her glasses she was going to come by and get but never did and her bathing suit top from Disney,” Butler continued. I used to call her whenever I was bored or wanted to hang out, but now whenever I see her name on my phone, or if I go to snapchat her or call her, it’s like she’s never going to pick up or text back, so it’s going to be really hard.
According to Ireland McClanahan, she has worked with Sidney Langston and attended school with Emily McAllister. She predicted that the road ahead would be difficult for everyone.
McClanahan admitted, “Without Sidney, it’s going to be different, it’s going to be different for sure. I can’t wait to see Emily and just like not even say anything but just give her a hug you know.”
McAllister’s mother, who McClanahan claims to have spoken with, has informed her that her daughter is conscious and alert despite suffering several broken ribs and will soon undergo surgery.
McClanahan expressed shock at the rapidity with which some events can unfold. “I am glad Emily is recovering and that she made it out of it you know in the good way,” he said.
The crash happened close to where Angela Perdue lives. They need to slow down, she said, because she’s seen several accidents in the area.
She and her son, then 16 years old, reportedly rushed out to assist the two 18-year-olds after hearing the crash. According to Perdue, it’s devastating to hear about the death of a young person in a car crash.
For as long as I’ve been a nurse, I’ve seen death, but it never gets easier, and I feel for the parents, so I’ll be praying a lot, Perdue said.
Both the driver, a 57-year-old woman, and a passenger, a 14-year-old boy, were hurt in the collision. Their injuries were so severe that they had to be taken to Moses Cone Hospital.
The accident caused the road to be closed for several hours in both directions.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
We’ll update the story as soon as we can get our hands on more details.
