He holds the single-season and career total offense records at Idaho Falls High School. He threw for 2,269 yards and 18 touchdowns as a senior and rushed for 1,491 yards and 24 touchdowns. Multiple publications named him All-Idaho Player of the Year, First Team All-State, and All-Conference.
He won the long jump event as a senior at the 2009 5A Regional Meet with a mark of 6.85 m. He also ran the 200 meters and was a member of the 4 200 m relay team.
