Accident on State Route 21 in Garden City last night claimed the life of an off-duty police officer from Savannah.
The incident took place on Monday night close to Minus Ave.
A Georgia police officer was killed in a car accident while returning home from work.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, Officer Reginald Brannan was driving a Honda Accord when he collided with a tractor trailer that was moving slowly in the middle lane of northbound Highway 21.
Officer Brannan had just finished his shift and was returning home.
Chief Lenny Gunther expressed the department’s sadness at the unexpected death of Officer Brannan. The officer’s career had just begun, and he was young and inexperienced. As of the end of the year 2020, Brannan was a part of the team. He was the young age of 23.
Because of his wounds, Brannan passed away. Police from the State of Georgia are looking into the incident.
Brannan, according to the Savannah Police Department, will officially join the force in December of 2020.
