Why Did The I Love Lucy Show End? – Celebrity
One of the biggest reasons that I Love Lucy ended was because the marriage of Lucille and Desi was crumbling. As creators and stars of their show, and owners of the production studio that had made it, the couple’s dissolution resulted in a lack of chemistry on screen and a near-impossible working relationship.
Lucille Ball may be best known for her time on I Love Lucy, but the star continued to be a primetime television actress for many years after that show came to an end. After I Love Lucy, Lucille could be seen in The Lucy Show. The Lucy Show started in 1962, and Here’s Lucy subsequently followed it later in the decade after it’s end.
I Love Lucy is an American television sitcom that originally ran on CBS from October 15, 1951, to May 6, 1957, with a total of 180 half-hour episodes spanning 6 seasons (including the ‘lost’ original pilot and Christmas episode). The show starred Lucille Ball, her real-life husband Desi Arnaz, Vivian Vance, and William Frawley.
It was first known as The Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz Show, and later, in reruns, as The Lucy–Desi Comedy Hour . I Love Lucy became the most-watched show in the United States in four of its six seasons, and it was the first to end its run at the top of the Nielsen ratings.
